Men's lacrosse falls at Wooster

WOOSTER, Ohio – Battling against a tough NCAC opponent, the Albion College men's lacrosse team dropped a 12-6 contest on Saturday. 

Trading goals for a majority of the first half, the Fighting Scots netted two in the final two minutes to take a 5-3 lead into the break. Mathieu Champoux scored the first goal for the Brits before fellow freshman Luke Schuemann scored the second two. 

Cal Stearns struck for a pair of unassisted goals in the third quarter, but Wooster immediately fired back, rattling off five straight goals to close out the period and take an 11-5 lead. Stearns recorded the final goal for the Brits off a feed from Andrew Miller. 

Senior Will Tessin caused a career-best five turnovers. At the faceoff X, freshman Connor Laidlaw was 11 for 22 and picked up six ground balls. 

Albion was an efficient 22 of 24 on the clear.

Next Saturday, Albion heads to Oberlin for a 1 p.m. faceoff.
