Baseball drops Hope series

Despite three strong starts from its pitching staff, the Albion College baseball team was swept by Hope College over the weekend. 

On Friday, the Britons lost a heartbreaking 10-9 walkoff decision. The series returned to Albion on Saturday, with the Britons losing a late lead in game one, falling 11-6 and dropping game two 3-1. 

For the series, Evan Schuster was 6 for 13 with three doubles to add to his MIAA leading total. Ryker Mazey, Austyn Stephens and Braeden all finished with five hits in the series, combining for eight RBI.

Freshman Carter Stahl caught both games Saturday, going 4 for 8 on the day with a pair of doubles. 

The Britons will host Calvin on Friday for games beginning at 2 and 5 p.m.
