MLAX earns another MIAA win

ANGOLA, Ind. – Early dominance aided the Albion College men's lacrosse team, picking up aN 11-4 win at Trine University. 

Junior Cal Stearns continued his incredible season, leading all players with four goals and one assist. Luke Schuemann dished out a career-high three assists and added a goal, while Brendan Mercier netted a hat trick. 

From the jump the Britons were off to a hot start, scoring five times in the opening period – three coming from Stearns and the other two from Keegan Pastor. In the second, Albion added four more goals, with Mercier, Schuemann and Andrew Miller adding goals. 

Holding a 9-2 lead at the half, the final two Briton goals came from Stearns and Mercier. 

Jackson Taylor had another solid day on the wing, picking up a team-high six ground balls.

Albion's defense was locked down on Trine's EMO, as the Thunder converted zero of four man-up opportunities. Also on defense, Logan Bride caused four turnovers and picked up six ground balls in the win. 

Caleb Howell put together another masterful performance in goal, totaling 16 saves. 

Albion moves to 7-7 overall, 2-1 in the MIAA.

On Saturday, the Brits host Alma for a 3 p.m. faceoff.
