Giesige, Schuster named All-MIAA

Two members of the Albion College baseball team were named to All-MIAA teams as announced on Thursday. Juniors Cole Giesige and Evan Schuster were honored by the league, with Giesige claiming First Team honors and Schuster Second Team accolades. 

Giesige proved to be the ace of the staff once again, compiling a 6-2 record with an ERA of 2.08. His 76 strikeouts on the season breaks his own single-season record that he set in 2024. Opponents hit just .165 against the southpaw on the season. In conference play, Giesige fanned 49 batters in 43 innings.

Schuster landed on the All-MIAA team for the second straight season. He led the team with a .329 batting average, hitting .368 in MIAA competitions. His 18 doubles led the league and he drove in 24 runs on the year. The everyday centerfielder for the Brits, Schuster had a fielding percentage of 1.000 in 87 chances.
