Britons Crush Warriors to Open 2025 Campaign

ALBION, MI -- The Albion College women's volleyball team got off to a hot start to open the 2025 season on Friday evening with a three-set sweep (25-5, 25-12, 25-13) of Wisconsin Lutheran College.

Starting the season inside the friendly confines of Kresge Gymnasium, the Britons cruised past the Warriors in three sets thanks to a strong offensive performance and stellar night at the service line.

Talking about the season-opening win, head coach Kristin Slamer-de St. Aubin added, "We had a great night. Our sideline did an incredible job with energy and it was great to see our team thrive in great moments. Our offense was able to connect because of great passing all night and we battled defensively for every point. Proud of our grit and excited to get back to work tomorrow."

Albion racked up 29 kills with a .224 hitting percentage, and held a 12-2 edge in aces. On defense, Albion held WLC to a paltry -.094 attack percentage.

Carly Frank paced Albion's high-powered attack with a match-high 11 kills. Sophomore Kayda Herrick chipped in 9 kills and 12 digs. Molly Edmunds orchestrated Albion's attack to the tune of 19 assists and chipped in 11 digs to register a double-double.

Albion's barrage from the service line was led by Ava Wilcox who registered a match-best five. Paige Williamson added four aces to go along with 10 digs.
