HANOVER, Ind. -- After picking up a pair of wins to close out an undefeated weekend at the Hanover Invitational, the Albion College women's volleyball team improved to 8-1 on the season.
With the victories over DePauw University and Blackburn College, the Britons are off to their best start to a season since the 2022 campaign.
Match One
To open the day the Britons battled the Tigers of DePauw in a hard-fought five-set match. Albion showcased poise in the tilt, overcoming a 2-1 deficit to win the match in a decisive fifth set. Albion held the edge in kills (57-52), digs (77-73), and assists (52-46) as the Brits outlasted the Tigers.
Albion leaned on junior
Carly Frank to spur the offense. Frank tallied a match-high 20 kills and hit a tidy .245.
Kayda Herrick posted her fourth double-double of the campaign with 16 kills and 10 digs to bolster Albion's attack.
Molly Edmunds dished out a match-best 45 assists and added 13 digs.

Ava Wilcox helped slow the Tigers' attack throughout the match with 16 and 13 digs, respectively. At the net
Emma Pagliarella tossed up a team-leading four blocks.
Match Two
The Britons flew past the Beavers in straight sets (25-10, 25-8, 25-14) in the second match of the day to seal the 3-0 weekend in Indiana.
Albion's offense fired on all cylinders to the tune of a .330 attack percentage, which marked a season-best. Frank paced Albion's furious barrage with 17 kills. In registering the match-best mark, Frank has tallied double-digit kills in each of Albion's nine matches to start the campaign.
Williamson paced the Brits once again with 13 digs. Edmunds chipped in a match-best 33 assists, while Herrick matched her season high with four service aces.

The Britons remain on the road next weekend at the Ohio Northern Invitational. Albion gets the action started on Friday, Septermber, 19 with a pair of matches against Bluffton University and The College of Wooster. The Britons take on Bluffton at 1 pm before battling Wooster at 4 pm.
