CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa --The Albion College women's wrestling team competed over two intense days at the NWCA National Duals, en route to a 12th place finish with key victories against strong regional and national opponents.

Albion opened with a tough 45-0 loss to powerhouse Wartburg College but bounced back quickly with a 25-17 win over Illinois Wesleyan University in consolation. Early falls by Ryleigh Ruiz (124) and Abby Geairn (131), plus technical falls from Emma Gibson (138) and Brooklyn Sage (180), fueled Albion's comeback.

Next, Albion fell 28-14 to Pacific University, despite bonus-point wins from Gabby Motz (110), Ruiz (117), and Gibson (131). Pacific's strength in the middle and upper weights proved decisive.

That set up a semifinal against Manchester University in the NCAA DIII 9-12 bracket, where Albion dropped a 34-14 decision. Strong efforts from Motz (110), Paris Ford (160), and Sage (180)— each with falls—kept Albion competitive.

The Britons ended the tournament with a 31-15 loss to Adrian College. Wins from Motz (110), Naomi Grummet (145), Ford (160), and Brynn Campbell (207) highlighted the effort, as Ford and Campbell closed out the dual by decision.
