ALMA, Mich. -- The Albion College men's wrestling team used bonus-point victories up and down the lineup to trounce Alma College en route a 31-17 dual win on Thursday evening.
After dropping the opening bout at 125, the Britons answered immediately and won seven of the next eight matches.
Cade Odrobina got the streak started at 133 with an 18-3 technical fall to set the tone for the remainder of the dual that saw Albion collect four technical falls, two pins, and a major decision.
At 149, as
Austin Matheney delivered an 18-0 technical fall.
Jayden Lewis followed at 157 with a pin just 1:14 into the match, to extend tthe Britons' edge.
Peyton Brooks (165) added another technical fall.
The middle of the lineup continued to favor the Britons, as
Nolan Rowley earned an 11-0 major decision at 174 before
Owen Turnbow capped Albion's strongest stretch with a fall at 184 to make it 31-8.
Alma picked up late wins at 197 and 285, but Albion's early bonus-point surge allowed the Britons to close out the dual with a 14-point victory.
