ALMA, Mich. – The Albion men's basketball team took care of business on the road, as they defeated Alma 85-74 and broke a two-game losing skid.
The Britons' two highest point totals in conference play this season have been against the Scots, scoring 87 in their January 21 matchup.
It remained a one-possession game for the majority of the first 10 minutes of the game, but the Scots went on a 10-0 run to take an eight-point advantage, 23-15, halfway through the stanza.
Alma led by as many as nine, but the Britons began to claw back.
They proceeded to go on a 10-0 run to take a one-point advantage, 29-28, with 5:20 left. After Alma took a four-point lead, the Britons closed out the half on a 10-3 run as
Tyler Davis and
Kurtis Rhodes made key triples down the stretch to aid the Britons' 43-40 halftime lead.
Albion kept their advantage and momentum rolling for the entire second half. The Scots did tie it at 63-63 with 8:57 remaining, but an 8-0 run helped put the stamp on the game for the Britons.
It never got closer than five points the remainder of the contest, and Albion stretched their lead to as many as 13.
Michael Umeh posted a career-high 26 points and has now scored 20 points in three consecutive games for the first time in his career.

Malachi Hooser II (13), Rhodes (10) and
Kam Mayes (10) all had double figure point totals as well.
