ANGOLA, Ind. – The Albion men's basketball team dropped to Trine, 74-58, following their four-point victory over Calvin last Saturday.
The Britons never led during the game but kept it a 1 to 2-possession game for about three quarters of the first half.
After a
Kurtis Rhodes layup that made it a two-point deficit, 14-12, with 7:12 left, the Thunder took control on a 19-8 run to close out the half up 33-20.
Trine's momentum carried into the second half. Despite Albion scoring three of the first four buckets in the stanza, the Thunder went on a 14-4 run to take a 19-point advantage with 13:26 left.
The double-digit lead for Trine never wavered.
Michael Umeh notched a game-high 21 points and nine rebounds, while
Kam Mayes chipped in 15. They hit just 1-of-17 attempts from beyond the arc, while Trine hit 48.8% of their field goals.
