ALBION, Mich. — Albion baseball lost the first of three games against Hope College on Friday, falling 8-4 at Champions Stadium.
Senior Daniel Bruzdewicz was on the mound for the Britons, pitching 7.0 innings. The Flying Dutchmen tallied 14 hits against Bruzdewicz. Ty Wasilenski relieved him for the final two innings, allowing only four hits.
Albion saw life in the second when Evan Shuster hit an RBI double to tie the game at one. Hope compiled the rest of their runs during the middle innings, building a seven-run lead heading into the final frame.
Gavin White's three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning sparked a late rally, but the Flying Dutchmen slammed the door shut to secure the win. Hope outhit Albion, 18-9.
