FARMINGTON HILLS, Mich. — Cooper Bright and
James Grey have earned MIAA Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors.
Bright received Track Athlete of the Week, while Grey was named Field Athlete of the Week by the conference.
Competing at Spring Arbor's Bill Bippes Cougar Classic, Bright won the 200m in a time of 21.50 and took second in the 100m with a mark of 10.70. Additionally, he was on the second-place 4x100m relay squad that finished with a time of 42.29 seconds.
Bright's 200m mark was the second-fastest time in Albion history, closing in on DaMario Chapman's record of 21.31 set in 2024. It also ranks first in the MIAA, fourth in the Great Lakes Region and 42nd in Division III.
Grey was runner-up in the triple jump with a leap of 14.00m that now ranks ninth in Albion history. The senior was also on the 4x100m relay quartet with Bright and additionally placed 11th in the 100m (11.33).
Grey's triple jump mark is best in the MIAA and fourth in the Great Lakes Region.
The Britons will head to Hillsdale for the GINA Relays on Saturday, April 18.
