HOLLAND, Mich. — The Albion women's track & field team placed fourth at the MIAA Championships with 45 points. Calvin won the meet and posted 258 points at Hope's Brewer Outdoor Track.
Malea Wourman and
Riley Adams were the Britons' top individuals in their respective events. Wourman placed fifth in the 400m finals (59.93), while Adams also took fifth in the javelin (29.25m).
Additionally,
Alexis Ames earned a spot in the top eight in the javelin with a seventh place showing (29.06m).
Brianna Bennett and
Leilani Casteele were the other individuals to place in the top eight. Bennett did so in the 400m hurdles by taking seventh (1:12.22), while Casteele also took seventh in the discus (33.28m).
Chelsea Thelen landed 15
th in the high jump (1.42m),
Taylor Adams was 17
th in the 1,500m (5:19.22) and
Bianca Baird ran 19
th in the 5,000m (19:22.88) to round out the top Briton finishers.
Both relays came in fourth. The 4x100m squad of
Lauren Fenstermaker,
Maggie Sorrelle,
Mia Czarnowski and Wourman ran a time of 49.71, while the 4x400m quartet of
Adalyn Mata, Sorrelle, Bennett and Wourman posted a mark of 4:11.72.
