Albion, Mich. - The Britons opened the season with a bang as they took down Michigan-Dearborn 4-0.
The Britons struck early with two goals in the opening 10 minutes.
Claire Gorno scored the opening goal of a quick pass from
Brooklyn Zeleny just under five minutes into the opening half.
Kelsi Green responded not even a minute later as she found the goal with the help of
Mia Czarnowski.
The Britons continued to battle and in the 27th minute freshman
Eva Armbruster would have herself her first collegiate goal as she found an open net. The offense was not done for the Britons as
Belle Beman broke away and scored just four minutes before halftime.
The Britons held the Wolverines to zero shots in the opening half with the Britons remaining in control of the ball for much of the opening half. The Britons took an impressive 14 shots in the opening period and were ready to carry the momentum into the second half.
The second half was much more of a battle. The Britons would try and find the next, but despite taking eight more shots, they were not able to find the back of the net again.
The Britons defense remained strong through the entire night, with just the first shot being allowed in the 81st minute and only allowing a total of two shots all night.
The Britons will look to remain unbeaten as they travel to Maine to face Maine Maritime on Friday September 4th at 7PM and Maine-Farmington on Saturday September 5th at 5PM.
