Manchester, Ind. - Albion Women's Volleyball picks up the win over the Spartans 3-1 (25-14, 26-24, 24-26, 25-18).
Carly Frank led the Brits with a season high 19 kills and
Carson Howard recorded her second 10 kill game in a row.
Paige Williamson added 23 digs and
Emma Pagliarella had three blocks. Frank also added a team high six service aces.
The Brits started the match out hot, going on a 15-3 run, with Frank having four aces during that run. The Brits would continue to be dominate anf go up 20-6 after kills by
Bri Whitfield and Howard. The Spartans would capitalize on a few errors by the Brits, however Whitfield would find a gap and send the Brits into set 2, going up 1-0.
The Brits would come out and be down 2-7, however kills by the Brits would bring them back within one. The Brits would continue to battle and would tie the Spartans at 22. The Spartans would be one point away from victory, however the Brits would record four straight kills to take the victory and go up 2-0.
Set three would be back and forth, with eight ties before teams would tie at 13. The Brits would take a small lead after three kills but the Spartans would respond and tie the set at 19. Both teams would battle before the Spartans would string together two kills and an ace to take the third set.
The Brits would come out on a 9-3 run looking to put the match away. The Brits would continue to hold a lead and another ace by Frank and two kills would give the Brits a six point lead, 17-11. They would capitalize on errors by the Spartans to take an seven point lead, 19-12. The Spartans would close the gap within three, however the Brits would come up with back to back blocks to finish the set off.
The Brits return to action on Friday September 25th as they host Anderson for the first match of the Albion-Olivet Tournament at 6:30 PM.
