Biography

One of the women's basketball representatives to Albion'sStudent-Athlete Advisory Committee.

2014-2015: An illness sidelined her for the final four games of the season...Prior to that, she was the team's fourth-leading scorer averaging a shade more than 8 points per game...Her 3-point basket with 31.8 seconds left lifted Albion to a 54-53 victory in the Jan. 14 home game against Kalamazoo...She produced a season-high 17 points against Kalamazoo...Scored in double figures seven times, including 16 in non-league games against Dominican, Ill., and Denison, Ohio...Secured a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds in the non-league win over Spring Arbor.

2013-2014: A starter in a nine-game stretch from mid-January through the end of the season and she responded by scoring in double figures five times…Produced 17 points (5-8 FG, 5-7 FT), five rebounds, and five assists in the Feb. 8 game at Trine…Knocked down 6-of-11 shots from the field in scoring 14 in the home game against Hope…Pulled down a career-high 11 rebounds (five on the offensive end) in the game at Saint Mary's.

2012-2013: Playing time increased in Januaryand February and she responded by producing seven points (3-5 FG) in the home win over Kalamazoo… Pulled down three reboundsin the home game against Kalamazoo and the road game versus Trine… Dished out three assists in three assists in the home game against Saint Mary’s.

Prior to Albion: A point guard who achieved all-Kalamazoo Valley Association and first team all-Barry County status as a senior… A two-year team captain on teams coached by Landon Wilkes… Named the Lions’ most valuable player in 2008.

Personal: An exercise science major with a minor in communication studies…Daughter of Larry and Rane Popa.
