Box Score ALBION, Mich. – The box score reports Albion College took seven shots in its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association match against Trine University, but none of the shots were dangerous as the Thunder walked off Alumni Field 2-0 with a victory over the Britons.
Andy Bieber (Macomb/Dakota) placed a shot on goal six minutes into the match, but his drive from the top of the box was caught by Trine goalkeeper Nick Thon. Josh Deuel (Dowagiac), Evan Malecke (South Lyon/Detroit Catholic Central) and Matt Woster (Canton/Salem) sent shots over the goal later in the first half.
Kyle Alsheskie (Wixom/Walled Lake Western) placed a header on goal in the opening minutes of the second half, but that was Albion's best scoring chance. Alsheskie sent a nifty cross 6 ½ minutes into the second half, but Deuel was unable to get his head on the ball, andJimmy Nieman (Rochester Hills/Rochester) sent a shot wide left moments later.
Sean Sullivan scored both goals for Trine. Sullivan happened to be in the right place on the field for his first goal, as Briton goalkeeperBrian Greathouse (Dearborn) stopped Mac Green's shot from close range, but Sullivan buried the rebound.
The Britons will hit the road for their next two matches, starting with a Saturday afternoon date at Olivet College.
