Set Pieces The Difference In Men's Soccer Loss

ANGOLA, Ind. – Trine University scored on a set piece in each half to send Albion College to a 2-0 loss in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's soccer action.

Albion, trying to break out of a slump in which it has scored one goal in the last three matches, pressed for the equalizer. Trine goalkeeper Nick Thon stood up to the test, stopping shots by Eric Clark and Kyle Alsheskie. Alsheskie ripped another shot that sailed wide of the frame in the 58th minute, and Tom Dickmann sent a shot over the goal in the 59th minute.

Albion finished the contest with 11 shots. Alsheskie was credited with three shots. Clark, Dickmann, and Jimmy Nieman ripped two shots apiece.

Albion's next two MIAA matches are at home, starting with a 4 p.m. Wednesday date against Olivet College.
