ALBION – Playing a formation that emphasized defense, Albion College could ill afford to allow an early goal in its Tuesday men's soccer match against Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association co-leader Calvin College. Calvin scored in the fifth minute and it went on to score a 4-1 victory.

Joe Broekhuizen finished a crossing pass from Travis Vegter to give Calvin the early lead. Broekhuizen dished out an assist on one of Taylor Pruis' two second-half scores. Vegter added a goal and an assist in the second half.

Kyle Alsheskie produced both of Albion's shots on goal. He scored his second goal of the season with about 3 ½ minutes to play. Grant Juth and Kurt Miller were also credited with shots.

Albion will pause to recognize the contributions of the senior members of the program Saturday as it tackles Trine University at Alumni Field.
