Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. – Albion College is driving back to Michigan with a 2-0 record as it completed the opening weekend of the men's lacrosse season 9-6 victory over LaRoche College.
Coach Jake DeCola said LaRoche had Albion on its heels in the first half, but the Britons seized control with a strong effort in the third quarter. Stephen Treppa (Clinton Township/L'AnseCreuse) had one of the best offensive games in the young history of the Albion program with three goals and four assists. Tim Urso (Novi/Detroit Catholic Central) contributed two goals, and Gerard Battersby (Farmington Hills/Farmington), Joe Braley (Davison), Joel Hedemark (Chesterfield/L'Anse Creuse North) and Jamie Kehoe (Clinton Township/De La Salle) tacked on one goal each.
DeCola added Kyle Formanczyk (Chesterfield/L'Anse Creuse North) led the defense with key saves all game and Carl Pressprich (Ann Arbor/Gabriel Richard) shut down the top offensive player from LaRoche.
Next up for Albion is a Feb. 25 date with the College of Wooster.
