MEQUON, Wis. – Concordia University took advantage of a extra man opportunity for the first of three fourth-quarter goals that sent Albion College to a 14-13 setback in Midwest Lacrosse Conference action.
Dan Gerord (Ann Arbor/Gabriel Richard) and Mitch Loney (Commerce Township/Walled Lake Northern) scored goals 12 seconds apart late in the third as Albion forged an 11-11 tie.

Danny Dahms' man-up goal 27 seconds into the fourth quarter gave the Falcons the lead for good. Sam Wladyka, who assisted on Dahms' goal, produced Concordia's next tally and Peter Morton capped the run.

Albion edged closer on Loney's fourth goal of the contest with 10:44 to play. The Britons continued to pepper shots, but it was unable to score until Tyler Kilpatrick (Rochester Hills/Rochester Adams) produced his second goal of the day with 1:22 to play. Falcon goalkeepers Zack Davis and Emmet O'Malley combined to make 11 saves, while the Britons stopped five shots.

"We just ran out of time," Albion coach Jake DeCola said. "It was a great game, but we obviously would have liked to win."

DeCola added he was pleased with the Britons' success in face-offs (19-of-30) and clears (15-of-20).

Albion controlled the action late in the first quarter and for the first half of the second quarter. The Britons reeled off a five-goal run to surge to an 8-4 lead.

Albion travels to central Ohio March 28 for a non-league contest at Otterbein University.
