Box Score 2 KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Albion College softball coach Christina Finch hopes her team can build off some of the positive aspects of its 9-1 loss in five innings to Defiance College at Oren Brown Park Wednesday afternoon.
Albion played well defensively as it trailed Defiance, 3-1, after three innings. Helped by four errors, Defiance broke the game open with three runs in the fourth inning. The Yellow Jackets ended the game early with three more runs in the fifth.
Catcher Michelle Norgren rapped a pair of singles, including one that drove in Sarah Bucholz with a run in the first inning.
The College of Mount Saint Joseph handed Albion a 15-2 setback to start the day. Alex Yaw and Danielle Brenner slugged back-to-back doubles and Jessica Koehler produced a RBI in the third inning. Norgren also produced a single against the Lions to finish the day with three hits.
Albion returns to Oren Brown Park Thursday afternoon for games against Fitchburg State and Marietta. Bobby Lee, Albion's director of news & sports information, will be on hand for the internet broadcast.
