OLIVET, Mich. – Kristin Nelson won two jumping events and Ashley Miracle raced to first place in the 800 meters as the Albion College women's track & field team achieved fifth place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree with 461 points in the event's true team scoring format.

Nelson was one of two women to sail farther than five meters in the long jump. Her best effort was measured at 18' 1" to beat the second-place athlete by seven inches.

Nelson added first place in the triple jump with a leap of 35' 9 ¼". She was joined in the top eight in both events by first-year athlete Rhiki Swinton, who finished fifth in the triple jump and eighth in the long jump. Camille Sawicki achieved sixth place in the triple jump.

Nelson also achieved third place in the 100 meter hurdles (reaching the finish in 16.47 seconds), a fifth-place finish in the javelin throw, and an eighth-place finish in the 200 meters (28.45 seconds).

Miracle reached the finish line of the 800 in 2:20.52, nearly a second ahead of the runner-up from Calvin College. Theresa Hencsie was fifth.

Amanda Weaver turned in an impressive performance in the distance events, finishing third in the steeplechase (11:43.92) and fourth in the 5,000 meters (18:07.24). Victoria Sochor finished seventh in the steeplechase.

Rachel Derocher was the fifth runner to complete the 10,000 meters (40.53.07).
