Britons Dominate Late In Men's Lacrosse Win

Box Score

ALBION, Mich. – Albion College saved its best for last Tuesday, scoring four times in the fourth quarter to pull away for a 15-9 victory over Trine University in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's lacrosse contest.

Albion took an 11-9 lead into the final quarter and the Britons extended the lead a little more than a minute in as Mitch Loney scored. Jamie Kehoe tacked on a man-up goal two minutes later and the Britons were never threatened. Dan Genord and Dylan Neal added late goals for Albion.

The Britons got off to a slow start after recognizing the five seniors making up the first class of four-year players at Albion. Jake Ahearn and Patrick Walker scored in the first 2 ½ minutes as Trine sprinted out to a 2-0 lead.

Goals by Neal, Kehoe, and Tim Urso erased the early deficit. The teams traded goals for the remainder of the first half and Albion led 7-6 at halftime.

Joel Hedemark led Albion with three goals and an assist.

Albion will play its next two MIAA contests on the road, starting with a Saturday trip to Hope College.
