Three School Records Fall In Allendale

ALLENDALE, Mich. – Icy conditions on the track forced all the events except for the throws to be contested indoors, but that didn't stop Ashley Miracle, Kristin Nelson, and Amanda Weaver from achieving school records in the Al Owens Invitational.

Miracle had her best-ever performance in the 800 meters, completing her race in 2:17.24 for the fifth-best time out of 64 runners.

Nelson's next-to-last attempt in the triple jump was measured at 37' 4 ½". Rhiki Swinton and Camille Sawicki also achieved personal best efforts in the event. Swinton sailed 33' 4 ½" to finish sixth and Sawicki landed a jump of 32' 2".

Nelson also finished third in the long jump when she went 17' 8" on her third attempt.

Weaver turned in a winning time of 10:16.57 in the 3,000 meters.

Coach Lance Coleman said 11 personal best performances were established at the meet.
