ALBION, Mich. – The Albion College softball team saved one of its best performances of the season for its final home date of the season. The Britons scored a season-high eight runs in a 15-8 loss to Hope College in the first game of a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association doubleheader. The Britons managed four hits in a 8-0 loss in five innings in game two.

Michelle Norgren and Alex Yaw reached base on errors in the second inning of game one, and they scored on a double by Danielle Brenner.

Albion's 2-0 lead didn't last long, however, as Hope scored three times in its half of the third. Albion bounced back as Kacey Anderson delivered a 2-run double to push the Britons to a 4-3 lead in the bottom of the inning.

Hope seized control of the game by scoring nine times in the fourth inning. Albion didn't let game one end prematurely as Nicole Romain delivered a RBI double as part of the Britons' three-run uprising in the fourth inning. Romain added another RBI in the sixth inning.

Sarah Bucholz and Norgren produced three hits in the doubleheader.

Laura Tjepkema drove in five runs in the two games for Hope. Peyton Wells produced two RBI in both games.

Albion will complete the season with weekend doubleheaders at Adrian College and Trine University.
