DELAWARE, Ohio – Albion College track & field athletes tuned up for the April 13 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Jamboree by competing in the Marv Frye Invitational at Ohio Wesleyan University.
Ashley Miracle, a senior from Redford, was the only Briton athlete to finish first in an event. She completed the 800 meters in 2:18.56 to finish a second ahead of the second-place runner.
Kristin Nelson, a senior from Iron Mountain, continues to excel in multiple events. She was the runner-up in the triple jump (36' ¾") and she finished fourth in the 100-meter hurdles (15.89 seconds) and javelin throw (98' 11").
While Nelson gets her share of attention, Coach Lance Coleman noted the young women triple jumpers (Katie Clark, Camille Sawicki and Rhiki Swinton) jumped well.
Also in the field events, Lindy Williams achieved a personal record when she threw the hammer 98' 8".
Amanda Weaver, a senior from Marshall, reached the finish line in the 1,500 meters in 4:53.58 to finish fourth.
