ADRIAN, Mich. – Mike Tolkacz scored a school-record four goals and Kyle Alsheskie produced a goal and two assists as Albion College rolled to a 6-1 victory over Adrian College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's soccer action.

Albion's second win of the week moves the Britons to three points behind the teams tied for fourth place in the league standings. The Britons will challenge Calvin College, which has already sewed up the league championship, at 4 o'clock Wednesday in Grand Rapids.

Tolkacz, who now has eight goals on the season, scored twice in each half. Alsheskie tacked on his team-leading 13th goal in the first half and Charles Micunek got his head on a corner kick by Wes Shovels in the second half.

Briton Notes

Alsheskie gets credit for the game-winning goal by scoring Albion's second goal of the contest. He has scored the game-winner in six of Albion's seven wins this season. He was tied for ninth among Division III student-athletes coming into the game.

Only 20 Division III student-athletes had scored at least four goals in a game this season prior to Saturday. Only four had scored five goals in a game this season.

Jason Smith was the last Briton to score three goals in a contest. He accomplished the feat against Olivet College on Nov. 5, 2005.

Shovels scored his first point at the collegiate level with his assist on Micunek's goal.

Michael Reitmyer sent the through ball for the assist on Alsheshie's goal. It was his first point of the season, and his second career assist. Reitmyer scored three goals in his first season with the Britons.

First-year goalkeeper Zach Haapala stopped one shot. He gained the second victory of his collegiate career.
