GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Rhiki Swinton produced nine points in a pair of jumping events to lead the Albion College women's track & field team in the Calvin College Indoor Championships.
Swinton sailed 32' 7" in finishing third in the triple jump and she leaped 15' 11 ¾" in finishing fifth in the long jump.
Head Coach Lance Coleman noted there were five season-best and six personal-best performancxes.
"The performances by the jumpers was real impressive," Coleman said. "Led by the triple jumpers (Rhiki Swinton, Angela Morrison, Camille Sawicki and Katie Clark) placing third, fourth and sixth. The long jumpers (Swinton, Sawicki, Clark and Maicey Peterson) placing fifth and seventh with two personal bests. Pole vault and high jump added two more places, two season's best and one personal best."
Theresa Hencsie ran well in the 800m with a very good season's best time of 2:27.21.
Also scoring in individual events for the Britons were:
Maicey Peterson, sixth in the 60-meter hurdles, seventh in the long jump and eighth in the pole vault
Camille Sawicki, sixth in the triple jump
Angela Morrison, seventh in the 200 meters and eighth in the high jump
Theresa Hencsie, eighth in the 800 meters.
