WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – Albion College completed competition in the Rebel Spring Games Friday by splitting a pair of games at the Auburndale Softball Complex.

Eric Wagner collected four hits and scored three runs and Julia Anderson, Kaitlyn Downey, and Lauren Oppliger produced two hits apiece as the Britons gained their first victory of the season with an 11-3 decision over Beloit (Wis.) College in six innings. Albion managed two hits in a 6-0 loss to Thomas More (Ky.) College.

Albion erased a 3-2 deficit to Beloit by scoring six times in the fourth. Anderson, Yaw, and Monica Brugnoni drove in runs with one out in the inning. Lauren Oppliger drove in three runs with a double to the right-center gap.

Oppliger scattered three runs (one earned) on nine hits to earn her first pitching victory at the collegiate level. She struck out four.
