ALBION, Mich. – Albion's senior class provided the leadership on the final weekend home date of the regular season as the Britons scored a 20-8 victory over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Hope.

Ian Monkman made the most of his first start in goal, collecting 14 saves, Carl Pressprich shutout Hope's top scoring threat, Tyler Kilpatrick produced three goals, Ashok Selby scooped up four ground balls, and Kevin Riley provided vocal support.

"It was a great team effort and our seniors really led the way," Albion Head Coach Jake DeCola said. "Carl's work in the clear and on ground balls was outstanding. We are 92 percent in clearing the past two games and Carl has been a big part of that."

After matching goals with Hope in the first quarter, Albion seized control by outscoring Hope 6-2 in the second quarter to take a 10-5 lead at halftime. Dylan Neal scored three of his four goals in the second quarter. Tim Urso contributed a goal and an assist in the second quarter and Cameron Braun dished out a pair of assists.

Urso, who finished the day with four goals and four assists, added two goals and an assist in the third quarter as Albion extended the margin to 14-5.

Braun scored three goals in the fourth quarter to finish the day with four goals and three assists. He is one of the MIAA's scoring leaders with 18 goals in contests against league rivals.

The younger players also chipped in. First-year athlete Dominic Hamper produced two goals and Alexander Dziewit and Zach Hubbell tacked on a goal and an assist apiece.

Albion, 10-3 overall and 4-0 against MIAA rivals, squares off against Alma in its final regular season home contest. The face-off for the Wednesday contest is set for 7 p.m. at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium.
