ALMA, Mich. – Erica Wagner produced a two-run single and Lauren Oppliger worked five scoreless innings as Albion College harbored hope of upsetting Alma College in the second game of a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association softball doubleheader.

Instead, Alma tied the score with two runs in the sixth and plated six more in the seventh to pull away for an 8-2 victory over the Britons. Alma completed the sweep with an 8-0 victory in six innings in game one.

Alex Yaw, Monica Brugnoni and Sarah Bucholz sparked Albion's second inning rally in game two with consecutive base hits. Yaw and Brugnoni scored on Wagner's hit.

Albion missed other scoring chances, stranding a runner at third in the third and at second in the fifth. Wagner and Bucholz collected two hits apiece in game two.

Kaitlyn Downey collected two of Albion's four hits in game one. Wager produced a hit in game one to finish the day with three.
