Box Score DEFIANCE, Ohio – North Park University ripped off six points to seize the lead late and it held on for a 82-77 victory over Albion College in the championship game of the Purple & Gold Financial Tournament.
Albion trailed 69-59 with 6:15 to play. Seniors Travell Oakes, Jordan Herron and Dakota Kazen led the Britons on a furious rally. Oakes scored six of his team-high 15 points, Herron scored six of his 12 points and Kazen knocked down a three-point basket as Albion went ahead, 74-73 with 2:28 to play.
Jordan Robinson and Juwan Henry scored on North Park's next two possessions and T.J. Cobb made a free throw to lead North Park's late rally. Robinson led all players with 26 points and 14 rebounds. Cobb added 18 and Henry 14 for the Vikings.
Herron grabbed 11 rebounds to complete his fourth double-double of the season.
Corey Wheeler carried the Albion scoring early, finishing with 13 points. Kazen finished with a season-high 10 points.
Albion completed the non-league portion of the season at 5-6. The Britons begin their Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association schedule with a Jan. 6 date at Hope College.
