Shaw Wins 3,000 Meters As Track Season Begins

ANGOLA, Ind. - Albion College launched the track & field season by competing in a non-scored meet at Trine University.

Jessica Shaw, a two-time NCAA Division III Cross Country Championship qualifier, picked up where she left off by winning the 3,000 meters in 10:20.76. Allison Snyder achieved a time of 11:22.43 in finishing fourth.

Maicey Peterson, competing early in the day in the pole vault, cleared 10 feet in finishing third. Also in the field, Rhiki Swinton and Camille Sawicki finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the triple jump with both jumping beyond 10 meters (32' 9 3/4).

First-year student-athletes Britons Emilee Kinney (60m and 200m), Nia Thomas (long jump and 200m) and Sydney O'leary (long jump and 60m) all had a pair of top 10 performances.
