Albion Defense Freezes Aurora

Box Score

AURORA, Ill. – Tim Urso scored four times, Cameron Braun and Alexander Dziewit added two goals apiece, and Kyle Formanczyk collected 13 saves as Albion College walked off Vago Field with a 13-6 victory over Aurora University in non-league men's lacrosse action.

The teams traded goals as they played to a 3-3 draw early in the second quarter. Albion started to pull away as Joe Braley finished a pass from Dylan Neal and Urso scored goals 13 seconds apart.

Zach Hubbell scored with 20 seconds left in the second quarter as Albion held a 7-4 lead at halftime.

Albion extended the lead in the second half, outscoring Aurora 3-1 in the third and fourth quarters.

Head Coach Jake DeCola was pleased with the offensive distribution as Albion had eight players on the tally sheet. Brad Bogus, Dominic Hamper, and Harrison Palmer also scored goals for the Britons. DeCola noted Formanczyk stopped 68 percent of the shots he faced.

"Kyle did a great job between the pipes," DeCola said. "He made some key saves that slowed them down."

Nick DiMaggio helped Albion control possession by winning 14-of-21 face-offs.

Albion, 2-0 on the young season, is scheduled to make its campus debut Saturday when it meets DePauw (Ind.) University at 1 o'clock.
