SAVANNAH, Ga. – It may have been the first outdoor meet of the season, but Maicey Peterson isn't far off what it took to win the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association title in the pole vault last spring.
A sophomore from Clarkston, Peterson cleared the bar at 9' 8" Saturday in the Tiger Orange and Blue Classic at Savannah State University. Calvin College's Christina Geating won the league title at 10' ½" last year.
Angela Morrison had a busy day, competing in the 200 meters (28.17 seconds), 100 hurdles (17.94 seconds) and high jump (4' 6").
Jessica Shaw completed the 800 meters in 2:24.12
Albion will move on this week to Panama City Beach, Fla. The team will complete its spring break trip with competition in the Southern Invitational at Birmingham, Ala., next weekend.
