ANDERSON, Ind. – A good all-around team performance helped Albion College finish just four points out of second place in the Anderson University Invitational.
Multi-event athlete Angela Morrison produced a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles and a sixth-place finish in the high jump. She also joined Emilee Kinney, Tyra Thomas-Spratley and Nia Thomas on the 4x200 relay that finished second.
Thomas went on to finish third in the long jump.
Jessica Shaw and Rhiki Swinton produced Albion's first place performances, with Shaw beating the field in the mile and Swinton winning the triple jump ahead of teammate Camille Sawicki who was third.
Maicey Peterson placed third in both the 60 hurdles (a personal record of 9.69 seconds) and the pole vault.
Alyssa Wright placed sixth in the weight throw.
Albion had three scorers in the 3,000 meters with 3000m, Morgan Button placing fourth (11:30.28), followed by Leaha Sinnaeve and Keena Gilbert in seventh and eighth.
Albion athletes will compete in west Michigan next week with meets at Aquinas College and Grand Valley State University.
