Box Score ALBION, Mich. – Dylan Neal produced two goals and an assist and David DiRado added a goal and an assist in the first quarter as Albion College jumped out to a 6-1 lead and cruised to a 18-10 victory over Alma College in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's lacrosse action at Sprankle-Sprandel Stadium.
Albion improved to 3-0 against MIAA rivals and remained tied with Hope College atop the league table.
Dominic Hamper scored three times and Harrison Palmer added two more in the second quarter as Albion opened a 14-4 lead at halftime.
Hamper finished with five goals, a career high.
Cameron Braun, Albion's leading scorer, tacked on six points (three goals and three assists), Neal (two goals and three assists) and DiRado (a goal and four assists) produced five points apiece and Zach Hubbell added three goals.
"There was an assist on two-thirds of our goals, that's a sign of playing well on offense," Head Coach Jake DeCola said. "Eight players were involved in the scoring. That's an indication we are not built around one person."
Albion kept possession of the ball as face-off specialist Kyle DeCamp finished the day 26-of-31. The 26 face-off wins places DeCamp in a tie with Zack Ornstein of Albany for most by a Division III player this season.
DeCola credited Matt Lowes and Dave Brown for leading Albion's defensive effort. Albion finished plus-11 in ground balls, with Lowes pouncing on four and Antonio Reeves on three.
Albion, 7-4 overall, will hit the road for its next three MIAA games. The Britons will begin racking up bus miles Wednesday when they head to Calvin College for a 4 p.m. game.
