Box Score ANDERSON, Ind. – Albion College outscored Anderson University, 28-2, in the second quarter and cruised to a 76-34 victory in the opening women's basketball game of the season for both teams.
Evelyn Wischmeyer scored eight points in the second quarter and Emily Bernas added seven. The Britons, who shot 57 percent from the field over the opening 20 minutes, led 46-15 at halftime.
"We had great pressure and that created a lot of offense for us," Albion Head Coach Doreen Carden said. "It was nice to get a lot of players in the game, especially the younger ones."
Bernas led all players with 18 points. She connected on 7 of 9 shots from the field, including 3 of 5 from 3-point range.
Wischmeyer added 16 points, falling two shy of matching her career high. First-year forward Maija Gillum made an impressive collegiate debut with 12 points.
The Britons spread the offensive production with nine players involved in the scoring. Rain Hinton contributed eight points, Brittany Leutz had seven and Brooke Schutte finished with six.
