ALBION, Mich. – First-year attack man Alec Palmer produced a career-high four goals, Dominic Hamper and Drew Harm tacked on three apiece and Zach Hubbell added two as Albion College routed Hope College, 19-8, in Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association men's lacrosse action at the Davis Athletic Complex.

Albion improved to 6-0 against MIAA rivals to secure at least a share of the league championship for the third year in a row. The outright championship and No. 1 seed for the league tournament will be on the line Friday at 4 o'clock when the Britons visit Olivet College.

Hamper put eight points on the deck – dishing out five assists – to move past Dylan Neal for sixth place on Albion's all-time list for points. The senior from Grand Blanc, Mich., has generated 135 points on 61 goals and 74 assists. He's two assists shy of match Tim Urso for second place on Albion's all-time list.

Jacob Swift, Harm, Brandon Lebioda and Jacob Accardo scored as Albion seized a 4-1 lead after the first quarter and it never looked back.

Hamper and Hubbell tacked on goals in the first 1:18 of the second quarter as the margin ballooned to 6-1.

The game pitted two of the best face-off teams in Division III, but Albion won 71 percent on the dot to control possession most of the night. Kyle DeCamp won 19-of-24 face-off battles to lead the Britons.
