ALBION, Mich. – The Albion College women's lacrosse team believes it has something to build on despite a 10-6 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association rival Calvin College at the Davis Athletic Complex Saturday afternoon.

Albion trailed 6-1 at halftime, but rallied to cut the deficit to 7-6 midway through the second half.

Lauren Wiegand led Albion with two goals and an assist. She also controlled the draw five times.

Cait Gaitley scored two goals, controlled the draw five times and scooped up three ground balls.

Taylor Nelson and Cassandra Reuschlein also produced goals for Albion.

Goalkeeper Jenina Villabroza collected nine saves for the Britons.

Amanda Davio scored five goals for Calvin and Emma Verrett produced two.

Albion, now 2-6 overall and 1-1 against conference rivals, has a Tuesday night game at Kalamazoo College.
