The Albion College women's track & field team had its attention turned to Boston and Birmingham, Ala., on Saturday.

First-year thrower ShaQuoria Thompson was making her debut on the national stage in the NCAA Division III Indoor Track & Field Championships in Boston. She finished 17^th in a shot put with a best throw of 41' 5 ¼".

Meanwhile, most of the rest of the team was competing outdoors for the first time this season at Birmingham Southern College.

• Anna Albaugh was fifth in the discus throw
• Jessica Johnson was  fifth in the hammer throw
• Hannah Almhiemid was sixth in the 100 hurdles and eighth in the 400 hurdles

Albion's next competition is March 23 at Indiana Wesleyan University.
