Box Score ALBION, Mich. – Youth was served at Alumni Field on Saturday as first-year players Alex Brincat, Alex Sayeg and Carter Peek scored the goals as Albion College earned a 3-0 victory over Wittenberg University in non-league men's soccer action.
Brincat, a product of Crestwood High School in Dearborn Heights, Mich., scored the first goal of his collegiate career on a gritty play as he prevented Wittenberg from clearing the ball out of the box. His score in the 38th minute lifted Albion to a 1-0 lead at halftime.
Sayeg scored his team-leading fourth goal of the season in the 61st minute and Peek scored with 33 seconds left in regulation.
Albion placed 11 of its 19 shots on goal. Sayeg, Peek, Ian Sosenko and Jason Warras all placed two shots on goal.
Goalkeeper Maximilian Loria collected seven saves for his second clean sheet of the season.
Albion can reach .500 on the season if it can score a victory over the Milwaukee School of Engineering on Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m. at Alumni Field.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
