Albion College begins the second half of the men's basketball season with its final non-league test, a home date against Case Western Reserve University.

THE BRITON REPORT
Albion finished the month of December with a 4-1 record, including victories over Baldwin Wallace University, 73-70, and Otterbein University, 80-54 in the McDonald's of Bluffton Holiday Classic.
Caden Ebeling was named the classic Most Valuable Player and the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Player of the Week after producing 37 points while shooting 13-of-23 from the field and 14 rebounds in the two Albion victories during the tournament. He secured his third 20-point game of the season with 22 against Baldwin Wallace.
Quinton Armstrong, Ebeling's frontcourt mate, was named to the classic all-tournament team, chipping in with 27 points and 13 rebounds.
MJ Barnes knocked down 5-of-9 shots from 3-point range and all three of his free throws in scoring a career-high 18 vs. Baldwin Wallace.
Josh Palo (12), Justin McAbee (8) and Alex Warman (7) all achieved career scoring highs vs. Otterbein.

CWRU SPARTANS
Located in Cleveland, Ohio, Case Western Reserve is a member of the University Athletic Association. Winners of five in a row, the Spartans boast a 7-3 record. The Spartans are 1-1 against teams from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association, falling to Kalamazoo College, 77-62, and earning a victory over Adrian College, 78-63.
AROUND THE MIAA
Albion will jump into MIAA action for the remainder of the season next Wednesday, Jan. 8, with a home date against Calvin University.
Three MIAA teams are in action on Saturday. Alma College has a 1 o'clock start vs. Finlandia University, and Calvin has a 3 o'clock home game vs. Grace Christian College.
Albion owns the best record in the MIAA at 8-2.
Hope College completed its non-league schedule at 7-4 and Trine University and Adrian College check in at 6-5.
Alma and Calvin stand even at 5-5 and Kalamazoo College and Olivet College are 3-8.

Joe and Julie Serra have given a $5 million leadership gift to launch a fundraising initiative to make two dreams a reality at Albion College. The first is a newly expanded fitness and student activity facility at the site of the current Dow Recreation and Wellness Center. The second is a new or renovated competition facility for the volleyball, men's basketball and women's basketball teams that currently call Kresge Gymnasium home.
