ALMA, Mich. -- Back on the winning side of the board, the Albion College women's volleyball team made quick work of Alma College, sweeping the Scots on Wednesday night.
Albion defeated Alma, 25-13, 25-12, 25-16.Â
The Britons improve to 13-6 overall, 4-2 in the conference. Alma falls to 1-14, 0-5 in the MIAA.Â
Sophomore
Olivia Alexander led the charge with a team-high 12 kills. Middle
Jesse Hepner had a sparkling night, recording nine kills while swinging at a .571 clip.
Mariah Brenz totaled 28 assists as
Grace VanDorn added 10. Chasing a career milestone,
Jenna Khoury racked up 22 digs, sitting 29 away from 1,000 in her career.
In the opening set, the Brits used an 8-0 run to pull away from the Scots. Bolstered by a late run in the second set, Albion led by double digits for a majority of the set. Similar to the first two sets, the Brits held all the momentum in the final set, cruising to the conference victory.  Â
Alma struggled attacking, recording a .010 clip on the night.Â
Albion will travel to the Land of Lincoln this weekend for three games at the Millikin Invitational. Friday the Brits will play Westminster (MO) for an 8 p.m. EST match.
