ANGOLA, Ind. -- The No. 5 seed Albion College men's soccer team saw its season come to a close, falling to No. 4 Trine University 4-0. It was the first round of the MIAA Tournament, as the Britons had their season ended by the Thunder for the second straight season.
Trine stuck early with a beautiful goal in the upper left 90 for an early 1-0 lead. In the latter minutes of the first half, the hosts tacked on a second goal. Albion's keeper could not corral the rebound, as it bounced to a Trine striker who found the back of the net.
In the second half, Trine scored a third goal for a commanding lead. Their fourth of the evening came midway through the period to truly seal the deal.
It was a chippy contest, as the teams traded fouls and cards throughout the match.
Albion ends the season with a 4-9-2 overall record.
