ANGOLA, Ind. — Ending the regular season on a seven game win streak, the Albion College volleyball team defeated Trine University, 3-1 on Saturday. The Brits will be the No. 3 seed heading into next week's MIAA Tournament.
The 19-6 record marks a season-high for wins in the
Kristin Slamer-de St. Aubin era.
After the Thunder took the opener, Albion rallied to win the next three sets. Offensively, the Britons were led by
Chloe Webber's 15 kills as
Olivia Alexander added 12.
A 30-dig performance from
Jenna Khoury led Albion defensively. Three other Britons added double-digit digs --
Ava Smith (19),
Kaylynne Nicholson (11) and
Kameron Haley (10).
Setters
Mariah Brenz and
Grace VanDorn finished with 25 and 13 assists.
The Britons will host St. Mary's College on Tuesday night for the first round of the MIAA Tournament. On Oct. 19, Albion swept the Belles. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m.
