ALBION -- It was snowy. It was sloppy. But it was a win.

Playing through snow, the Albion College men's lacrosse team defeated Adrian College, 23-9. It marks Albion's seventh straight win, including a perfect 5-0 record thus far in April. The Britons improve to 11-1 overall, 5-0 in the MIAA.

It was a balanced scoring night for Albion, as nine players scored goals. Freshman Ethan Rottell led the team with nine points, including a career-high six assists.

Goals from Sam Puzevic, Brock Yabs and Eric Fraeyman pushed Albion to a 3-0 lead less than five minutes into the contest. The Britons led 6-2 after the first, as the hosts also got goals from Timmy Salinas, Jace Conley and Rottell in the period.

Albion kept control in the second quarter, adding five goals. Two in the second quarter came from Conley, while Puzevic, Rottell and Yabs all contributed in the period. The hosts took an 11-4 lead into the half.

Albion outscred the visitors 7-1 in the third quarter to truly break the game open. Highlighting the period were two man up goals -- one from Rottell and the other from Puzevic.

The Britons kept all momentum in the fourth, securing the conference win with ease.

Albion struggled from the face off X and committed 22 turnovers, but used a 4 of 5 on man up opportunities to help keep a large lead.

Joey Tatar -- the DIII leader in caused turnovers -- committed four in the win.

Senior goalie Josh Luketic (5-0) made seven saves through three quarters for the win.

Prior to the game, Albion had a senior spotlight for two of its seniors, Caleb Kropp and Brady Lawrence.

Albion will close out the regular season Saturday night at Calvin. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
