NOTRE DAME, Ind. -- In non conference action on Friday, the Albion College softball team was swept by St. Mary's College and Calvin University.

GAME ONE: St. Mary's 5 Albion 1

The Belles broke for a three spot in the bottom of the second for a quick 3-0 lead.

Albion answered immediately after with an unearned run in the top of the third. Senior Skyler Herman drew a one-out walk and moved to second on an infield single by Kenadie Baareman. With Herman on third, Shanyn Jewell reached on an error, allowing Herman to cross and cutting the deficit to 3-1.

In the bottom of the fourth, St. Mary's used a solo home run to rebuild the lead to three runs. Another Belles run in the sixth padded the lead for the hosts.

Baareman and Mickala Signor each recorded two hits, as the Britons had five total in the game.

GAME TWO: Calvin 9 Albion 4

The Knights scored six runs in the top of the first, creating a large deficit early for the Britons to battle back from.

The first Albion run came in the bottom of the fourth. Lauren Beougher doubled to right center to lead off the frame, and advanced to third on a single from Jewell. Freshman Jacqueline Jozefczyk reached on a fielder's choice to bring in Beougher.

Calvin answered with two runs in the top of the fifth.

Albion put two runs right back up in the home half of the frame. Olivia Palasek hit a leadoff single and scored three batters later on a Beougher triple. Signor reached on an error, allowing Beougher to score.

The final Albion run came in the seventh off another RBI double by Beougher.

Beougher was 3 for 4 in the game with two RBI. Jewell had two hits in the game as well for Albion.
