Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

HOLLAND, Mich. -- The Albion College softball team's season came to a close on Friday afternoon, falling twice at the MIAA Tournament. The Britons lost their opener to Calvin, 9-1 before dropping a 7-0 decision in the elimination game to Hope.

GAME ONE: Calvin 9 Albion 1

Haunted by four errors, the Britons dropped a run-rule decision to the No. 3 seeded Knights. Calvin held a 3-0 lead after four innings before the Brits got their lone run of the game.

Kacy Rossi led off the inning by reaching on an error and was lifted for pinch runner Felicia Maximiuk. Mya Nummer beat out a bunt base hit, putting two on turning the lineup over. A sac bunt from Olivia Palasek pushed the pair into scoring position. With two away, senior Lauren Beougher's infield single pushed across Maximiuk to give the Brits their only run.

Calvin tacked on three in the home half and three more in the bottom of the sixth to secure the run-rule victory.

Nummer and Skyler Herman had two hits apiece.

GAME TWO: Hope 7 Albion 0

The story was all Hope in the nightcap, eliminating the Britons from the MIAA Tournament and concluding their season. Hope scored seven runs on 11 hits to cruise to the win.

Albion had just three hits in game two.

Albion finished the season 17-17, their best record since 2011.
